Assalamualaikum..
In this post, I would like to share with all of you on How to Recover Your Files Infected by "Shortcut Virus" using Command Prompt.
Thumb Drives that had been infected by this virus will look like this.
To cure this simple problem, firstly you must identify the drive location/directory..
Then..open Command Prompt by clicking the Start button, Search "cmd", then Enter...
type "cd\" (without inverted comma), then Enter.
type the drive location
eg:
E:
[ENTER]
type
attrib -h -s *.* /s /d
[ENTER]
wait until the E:\> show on the ms-dos..
open your thumdrive..
backup all your important files and then format your thumdrive..
PrintScreen of the process:
FINISH
Other alternative is by clicking folder properties, and change the target folder manually.
For example, Shortcut target is
"%windir%\system32\cmd.exe /c "start %cd%RECYCLER\470a1245.exe &&%windir%\explorer.exe %cd%Adobe Photoshop CS5 [saifchenko™]"
change it to "E:\Adobe Photoshop CS5 [saifchenko™]"
OK :)
